Royal Pippa Middleton recalls queuing for Wimbledon with Kate in Vanity Fair article PIPPA Middleton has landed a new job as a contributing editor for a glossy magazine and filed her first dispatch, recalling how she and her sister Kate queued at 5am to get into Wimbledon. In her first piece, published today in New York, she has chronicled her life-long obsession with Wimbledon, the tennis tournament she describes as the highlight of her summer, and done a brief interview with world no 3 Roger Federer. Pippa, 29, who is dating stockbroker Nico Jackson, 35, writes: It was a similar sort of thing when, out of the blue, I stated to my family that if I had to get married, it would be in my tennis whites—shorts with no pleats or frills. The atmosphere was electric — more of a carnival than a glorified garden party, which it so often is — and for once crowds were thankful for the British rain. The bridesmaid whose backside became the most talked about posterior in Christendom also writes about the classic tennis poster showing a blonde revealing her bare bottom beneath her tennis skirt. All the boys at school had this on their bedroom walls. She is also an avid sportswoman, and we look forward to her take on traditional English pursuits, beginning with Wimbledon.

Suranne seems almost unrecognisable as she adopted the remarkably modest look compared to her run on the steamy BBC drama. The actress is known for her sultry performances on screen in the BBC drama, which even saw her strip down to her underwear for an impromptu romp with her ex husband Modest: Vanity Fair is said to be full of heart-stopping romance, raging feuds, horses a-plenty and sumptuous costumes, ticking all the boxes for great period drama.
Suranne also looks a far cry away from a cheeky image where she flaunted her lithe legs in stockings and a coat Frumpy: This story asks, in a world of materialism and vanity, how can a person hang onto his soul?

I have often joked that the supermarket tabloids are always a few weeks ahead of the mainstream press when it comes to serving up delicious dish. In the case of the recent news about former FBI second-in-command W. My name is Dawna Kaufmann, and I"m a freelance true crime reporter for the tabloids. But I"m also intrigued by political scandals and have investigated the Kennedy assassinations and Bill Clinton"s impeachment woes.
Naturally, Watergate was a fascinating area of interest to me. And as eager as Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein were to maintain the secret of Deep Throat"s identity, I was equally resolved to finding it out. While the author, John D. O"Connor did a fine job with the piece, he didn"t go into enough detail about my role. Days after the story broke, a journalist for the U. Guardian interviewed Vanity Fair editor Graydon Carter, who practically made a pretzel of himself, patting his own back and citing his team"s impeccable researchers.
I realize why -- they knew darned well we"d scoop their story, working on a weekly paper as we do. Still O"Connor"s account would have been better with my input and, in all honesty, I have such regard for the importance of the story I might have held off going to press myself just to ensure its integrity. Oh, who am I kidding?!

But everything changed when she accused a colleague of covering up illicit activity involving Turkish nationals. Fired after sounding the alarm, she"s now fighting for the ideals that made her an American, and threatening some very powerful people. At 10 o"clock that morning, Sibel and Matthew Edmonds were still in their pajamas, sipping coffee in the kitchen of their waterfront town house in Alexandria, Virginia, and looking forward to a well-deserved lazy Sunday.
It was arduous, demanding work, and Edmonds — who had two bachelor"s degrees, was about to begin studying for her master"s, and had plans for a doctorate — could have been considered overqualified. But as a naturalized Turkish-American, she saw the job as her patriotic duty. The Edmondses" thoughts were turning to brunch when Matthew answered the telephone.

My jaw literally dropped when a friend sent me the link to Vanity Fair"s new joint profile of Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski —and I hadn"t even gotten to the text yet. It was the picture that did it: Scarborough in a blue suit and blue, open-collared shirt lounging comfortably in a chair next to a butcher block table. On which is perched Brzezinski, his Morning Joe co-anchor, posed with her left leg skyward, ass just barely covered, balanced on one spindly black high heel.
A man is a man and a woman is a table-top ornament. Brzezinski"s hardly the only female news anchor to be presented as decoration rather than a source of information. Advertisement The biggest offense of these shoots is that they are editorially boring, and they say a lot more about what these magazines want from women than they do about the women themselves.
Mika"s heel thrust in the air says, Hey, having political opinions doesn"t keep a woman from being a kicky, cheeky broad. Megyn Kelly"s cheesecake shot is reassurance that reading the news—and occasionally taking forceful stands on issues like paid maternity leave or debunking transphobic nonsense —doesn"t automatically shrink a woman"s breasts or delete her sex appeal.
Anchorman"s portrait of women coming up in local news in the"70s was more thoughtful and subtle about gender, sex appeal, and newsrooms than these portraits are. Even if Brzezinski and Kelly volunteered to pose in such a ridiculous manner, Vanity Fair and GQ have editors to presumably make better judgment calls. That"s not to say it should be mandatory that news anchors pose wearing windbreakers in front of bombed out buildings, or don Rachel Maddow"s serious reporter plastic frames, or stick behind their desks for photo shoots.
In fact, precisely the opposite.
